Warm enough today that it felt hot. I went out for just a little while, walked around the building. Our high was 86F, with a heat index of 87F.

Sunny today. Our high was 84.9F. I'm only following the news just so much these days, but I do have updated numbers on Helene, now the second deadliest hurricane of the 21st century, after Katrina. Mostly cloudy today. But no rain. I am looking at film of what Helene did to so much of the southeast, and it's horrifying. Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennesee, Kentucky. Hot today, the violent thunderstorms just before sunset. We lost internet and the electricity flickered. Fortunately, I have the personal hotspot thing on my iPhone, so the long internet outage did not affect us. Our high was 96F, with a heat index of 100F.
